The methodology takes advantage of information gathered by the smart grid infrastructure along with some real-time measurements and exogenous information such as weather forecasts and calendar information (hour of the day, day of the week, etc.), while avoiding full knowledge about network topology and electrical characteristics. Innovative features: • Real-time state estimation in LV networks is performed using very limited real-time telemetry. • Neither topological information or electrical characteristics of the network elements are necessary. • Generates probabilistic alarms of voltage violation. Final TRL: 8 Function: Low voltage control (LVC) Short-description: Addresses the operation control of LV flexibilities (i.e., small-scale storage, consumer/ prosumer flexibility) based on preventive management and real-time monitoring of voltage profiles. The preventive control defines an operation plan for the available flexibilities in order to avoid potential operation problems based on a time of n-hours ahead. The real-time control module manages all unforeseen network constraints and corrects/updates the control actions previously determined by the preventive control module. In real-time operation, the algorithm analyses a snapshot of the network, produced by the LV state estimator module, and compares it to that used in the preventive plan definition, based on forecast data. Innovative features: • Exploitation of forecast data to perform predictive management of the LV network. • Use of pre-booked flexibility to manage voltage deviations. • Use of an unbalanced three-phase power flow routine to assess the impacts of the proposed control actions. Final TRL: 7 Advanced DistributionManagement System (ADMS) solution (LV grid) Function: GE´s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) was configured to integrate INESC TEC LVSE and to produce heat map representations of this information. The LVSE tool sends measurements and estimated values where measurements do not exist.
