SCALABILITY AND REPLICABILITY Definitions and goals In the case of InteGrid, scalability refers to the ability of a system, network or process to increase its size/ scope/range to adequately meet growth in demand. On the other hand, replicability denotes the capability of a system to be duplicated within another network, location or time. The main goals of the SRA are to analyse the impact of future scenarios when using InteGrid’s integrated solutions and to identify best practices (recommendations) in order to provide a replication roadmap. Focus Areas The Scalability and Replicability Analysis must be guaranteed from different perspectives. These include the functional, ICT, economic and regulatory domains which are aligned with the SGAM interoperability layers. SRA execution 2. pre-evaluation 4. clustering 6. results and conclusions FUNCTIONAL ECONOMIC ICT REGULATORY The functional analysis focuses on the main functions and tools developed within the project. It is aimed at validating the technical integration of these technologies at the component based level. The economic analysis provides the cost benefit analysis based on the net present value and the initial rate of return of implementing the new functions and tools. The analysis provides an overview based on economies of scale, macroeconomics and KPIs. The ICT analysis focuses the communication architectureusingareducedcomplexarchitecture representation provided by the SGAM in a two- step analysis: qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative analysis identifies potential network architecture bottlenecks while the quantitative analysis stresses them through simulations. The regulatory analysis is based on the investigation of the regulatory drivers and barriers which may be imposed within various countries in order to highlight the compatibility of these regulations during the deployment of smart grid functions.
