9 2. INTEgRID: obJECTIvES, CoNCEPT AND APPRoACH Based on the key challenges identified in section 1, the key objectives of InteGrid were developed. In so doing, the respective challenges could be holistically addressed across the entire project. Figure 1 outlines these objectives by dividing them into the main and specific objectives of InteGrid. InteGrid has the following two main objectives: 1. To demonstrate how DSOs can enable the different stakeholders to actively participate in the energy market and to develop and implement new business models, making use of new data management and consumer involvement approaches. 2. To demonstrate scalable and replicable solutions in an integrated environment that enable DSOs to plan and operate the network with a high share of DRES in a stable, secure and economic manner, using the flexibility offered by specific technologies and by interaction with different stakeholders. InteGrid has the following seven specific objectives which are linked with the key performance indicators obtained from the demonstration and are further quantified based on the relevant baselines established at the beginning of the project to quantify project success and progress. These specific objectives are outlined below: 1.
