Integrid - Bridging the Gap

63 Grid Stakeholders From Lisbon: “This was undoubtedly a challenge that we also saw as an opportunity, as it allowed the population to be equipped with various items of equipment such as smart washing machines, solar panels, thermal accumulators, batteries and energy management systems, free of cost, while also reducing energy bills. Today, almost two years after presentation, and after the physical implementation of the project, we consider InteGrid to be an asset, and feel that the impact on the population could have been even more positive, had involvement been greater”- Pedro Jorge Marcelino Ferreira - The President of the Ward of Samouco FromStockholm: “In the energy transition it is of the utmost importance to not only ensure, but also improve electrical grid reliability. Key aspects during this journey of transition include improving maintenance to predict asset health so actions can be taken at the optimal time. It is also imperative to ensure that faults which do occur will have the least impact possible on customers. Both these aspects are furthered in an innovative way by the InteGrid project and the respective demonstrations.”- Peter Söderström, Head of Digital Hub, Vattenfall Distribution Sweden. “The InteGrid project has shown how collecting and using data in an innovative manner makes it possible to develop powerful tools for grid operation and maintenance. Better grid monitoring allows system operators to make informed decisions when planning future maintenance. This is key when managing their assets and building a robust power grid.” - Lennart Kjellman - ENERGIFORSK, Sweden. From Ljubljana: “We believe that the foundations of the projectwerewell thought out – it paidenoughattention to the realistic condition and limitations of the distribution network and thus represents a good foundation for the systems servicesmarket, whereaggregatorsoffer flexibility to theTSOand theDSOwithout causingproblems tomid- or low-voltage level.” Slovenian energy supplier. Residents/customers From Lisbon: based on the survey, 90% of participants have changed their Energy Management habits; 86% were very involved in the project and 96% would be involved in projects such as InteGrid in the future – the InteGrid Team From Ljubljana: “The main added value from the project was to have access to 1-minute data of our consumption. Another very important benefit is that we got an opportunity to collaborate on real activations of our flexible power enabling us to help the grid. For the future, we expect more precisely defined terms and conditions to participate as a flexibility provider for the DSO. We also would like to have a cleaner economic perspective for future DSO services, e.g. the price concept.” - Customer From Stockholm: “… [LocalLife’s Pause Hour] is only one hour, so we have so many possibilities. It depends on the day of course, and on the time when the Pause Hour is, but basically, I have tried everything during these many Pause Hours. I went shopping because it takes around 40-50 minutes. I went running or I went for a walk. I have a coffee with friends outside. There are so many possibilities. And the Pause Hour also encourages us to do something new and try new things like reading a book.” – Mateusz Kaluza, KTH Live-In Lab resident and LocalLife user. 7.
