Integrid - Bridging the Gap
Figure 4.26 – Figure 4.26: Demo sites in Stockholm. Live-In Lab KTH (Upper) Active House Stockholm Royal Seaport (Lower) 50 KTH Live-In Lab LocalLife (PUC 2.11) was implemented and evaluated together with 152 student households joining the local social network at the Live-In Labs. KTH Live-In Lab, located in Stockholm, offers a full-scale test environment ranging from buildings and installations to housing and management organizations. This demo site was chosen to test and evaluate the behaviour demand response Use Case in HLUC 11. The Live-In Lab is based on around 300 student apartments spread over 3 buildings, shown in Figure 4.26, that provides both virtual and physical test environments for research and innovation. Each of the buildings is equipped with state-of-the-art sensor devices to monitor indoor and outdoor parameters, such as temperature, light, water use and electricity consumption, to provide comfort for residents and an active testing area for researchers. Smart Grid Demo sites Ellevio has several pilots on a smarter MV and LV grid and especially the StockholmRoyal Seaport (SRS) area with 3 new 10/0.4 kV substations and 1 retrofit substation. The demo sites display solutions to reduce SAIDI, CAIDI, energy losses and implement DR through load forecasting for peak shaving with time of use incentivised pricing. The solution focuses on collecting and measuring more data as information and communication becomes more cost effective, flexible and available. The basic properties and objectives of each demo site are shown in Table 4.19. Table 4.19 - Assets and functions in each demo area Demo sites Properties and main functions Objectives Stockholm Royal Seaport Four secondary substations, three of which are new and one is retrofit, 2x800 kVA, 1x800 kVA, 1x800 kVA, 4x1000 kVA. 200-300 LV clients (5-15 kW/client) per station. The substations have different levels of control, monitoring and measurements such as: Control, Fault Detection/Protection, Power Quality, Measurement and Analysis, Automatic Switching, Remote Asset Management. Wireless communication 3g/4g. • Monitoring • Predictive maintenance • Load forecasting • Wireless communication and Cyber security Ekerö Fault indicators using GSM/SMS technology connected to DMS/SCADA for locating faulty sections in the MV grid. Two sections with a total of 1,024 LV customers (5-15 kW). Fast fault localisation and reenergized clients on non-affected sections. • Fault location, isolation and restoration Kyrkviken Primary substation 70/10 kV, 12 MV customers and 22,000 LV customers.
